Amruta Fadnavis is a trained classical singer, a social activist and a banker. She is married to the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Mr Devendra Fadnavis. Fadnavis represented India at National Prayer Breakfast (2017), an International peace enterprise headed over by the then US President Donald Trump.

Amruta Fadnavis’ Early Life

Amruta Fadnavis was earlier Amruta Ranade before marriage. She was born on April 9th,1979 in Nagpur, Maharashtra and her parents, Dr Sharad Ranade, an Ophthalmologist and Dr Charulata Ranade who is a Gynaecologist. The singer rose up in a family where education and freedom for women were crucial. She earlier studied at St. Joseph Convent School, Nagpur.

She is a graduate of the G.S. College of Commerce and Economics. Later she followed MBA in finance and studied taxation laws at Symbiosis Law School, Pune. She was a state-level under-16 tennis player. Amruta Fadnavis is also a banker, actor, singer and social activist. She is married to the current Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis.

The Singer represented India at National Prayer Breakfast in 2017, an International peace initiative presided by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Fadnavis started her career with Axis Bank as an executive cashier in 2003 and subsequently headed the Axis Bank business branch in Nagpur. Currently, she is the vice president of Axis Bank.
Amruta married Devendra Fadnavis in December 2005.

Amruta Fadnavis’s Career

She has worked with Axis Bank for the last 17 years. Initially, she joined as an executive cashier and now works as Vice-president of – the Transaction Banking Department at Axis Bank. She relocated to the corporate office at Worli, Mumbai in January 2015 and continued working with Axis Bank even after her husband Devendra Fandnavis became the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Amruta started taking professional training in classical singing. She began recording songs at the tender age of six in classical music, Fadnavis has served at various social events as well as singing for many commercial and social films.

The Singer debuted as a playback singer in Prakash Jha’s movie Jai Gangaajal with the song titled “Sab Dhan Mati”. She lent her voice in a biopic movie Sangharsh Yatra which was based on the life of BJP leader Gopinath Munde.

Fadnavis’ first music album “Phir Se” featuring Amitabh Bachchan released by T-Series was viewed over 700,000 times in a single day. It reached over 1.4 million views in three days.

In the year 2018, her song “Mumbai River Anthem” was dedicated to saving the four rivers of Mumbai-Poisar, Dahisar, Oshiwara and Mithi. In the year 2020, she sang “Alag Mera Ye Rang Hai” for acid attack sufferers, “Tu Mandir Tu Shivala” for the corona fighters and “Tila Jagu Dya” for women’s empowerment.

On the occasion of Mahashivratri in 2022, Fadnavis launched a new song, a rendition of the Sanskrit hymn Shiva Tandava Stotra. Released by Times Music, it received over 12 million views on YouTube as of 14 April 2022.

In the year 2017, Fadnavis organised a fashion show of acid attack survivors, dubbed the “Acid Attack Conquerors”, at the National Sports Club of India, Worli. The show was supported by Divyaj Foundation in collaboration with Maharashtra State Women Commission. Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis, who attended the event, announced an increase in the recompense amount for acid attack victims from ₹300,000 to ₹500,000.

In the year 2019, Fadnavis and the Divyaj Foundation started a musical talent show titled Mitti Ke Sitare for deprived school children between the age group of 7 to 15 from the slum areas of Mumbai, with an ambition to provide selected prospects in different genres of vocal and instrumental music a larger platform.

Amruta Fadnavis, in 2015, led a board to Manasarovar for Indo-Chinese peace promotion. She was Chief Patron of the Davis Cup tie between India and New Zealand in Pune in 2017 and the L&T Mumbai Open Tennis Tournament in November 2018. A documentary about her, “The Voice,” won Best Film Documentary at IndieFEST in 2019, written, directed, and produced by Sagar Pagar.

In October 2018, Amruta Fadnavis attended the inaugural voyage of India’s first luxury cruise liner ‘Angriya’. Fadnavis was criticised after a video of her sitting on the rim of the vessel gambling her life to take a selfie was released online. Fadnavis purposely ignored numerous requests from security personnel to return to the safe areas of the vessel. She later issued an apology for setting a bad example for the youth by taking undue risks to take a selfie.

In September 2019, Fadnavis was in controversy for calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while wishing the latter on his birthday.
